Bruce Darling: Bruce Darling has dedicated nearly four decades to championing the rights of individuals with disabilities as the co-founder, President, and CEO of the Center for Disability Rights (CDR) in Rochester, New York. His tenure has been characterized by a relentless commitment to advancing independent living and ensuring access to essential support systems for people with disabilities. Bruce's pathway to disability rights advocacy was deeply personal, shaped by his own experiences as a neurodivergent individual in an educational system that lacked adequate accommodations. His mother, Norita, was instrumental in recognizing and addressing his needs, fostering an environment that allowed him to thrive and ultimately shaping his future advocacy endeavors. Following graduating from McQuaid Jesuit High School in 1983, Bruce attended the University of Rochester, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1986. His educational journey was rich and diverse, encompassing studies in literature, psychology, sociology, photography, filmmaking, and history, alongside business courses at the Simon School. He further expanded his expertise by earning a Master of Science in Public Relations Management.
